Overpopolation is real. Malthus was somewhat right. And now our denial is coming back to bite usThe Planet is finite. Countries are finite. Some countries produce more food than they consume but most cannot produce enough food to sustain their population.
Because the population exceeds the carrying capacity. We went from 4 Billion in 1973 to 8 Billion in 2022. Some countries like Nigeria - Pakistan - Bangladesh had a population of just 30 Million in 1950 - skyrocketed to 200 Million now and are still growing.
These countries are allready dependent on grain from Russia and Ukraine for example. With climate change, resource depletion, peak oil, peak water, peak farmland, yields will decrease while the population continues to increase.
The result will be famines, destabilizing mass migrations and a reduction of the population to sustainable levels. People on hopium and denial can scream " ecofascism" and deny the reality of overpopulation all they want. Sadly reality will soon prove them wrong.
Unless you're a construction contractor or a rancher digging post holes every day, you have no need of a pickup truck.
Look at the pickup drivers in the adjoining lanes. Do they look like they fit either category?

It's not really that his stances are surprising, it's just that popular media and online discourse have been heavily biased against him as being "old, white, boring, out-of-touch, clueless, centrist", etc. A lot of that was politically strategic messaging by the Right, and some of the "if I can't have my perfect candidate then fuck you" Left as well. He's actually pretty much being the person that he ran his campaign promising; people just didn't expect him to be serious, or thought he was lying to pander for votes.
Lol đ you have no idea what you're talking about starting wages are where you're at up to 100k depending on the role and then rent easily takes most of it even if you just get a studio you thats half before taxes on the lower end . Then there's city county and state sales tax on anything you want to buy and don't forget the dine in tax and the tolls every time you want to leave or come in student debt and every thing is just more expensive in the bay area and this is above higher california prices and this isn't between jobs its a bank collapse through no fault of their own they're faced with not only job loss but the potential loss of any money they had if they also banked svb
Fuck you DeSantis!

We have completely accepted that this and all generations after will never be able to own property, exposing them to ongoing uncertainty of living costs, especially in countries with little renters protection like the UK (picture from London).
The intergenerational wealth gap is insane. A system was put in place allowing people/voters at that point in time to concentrate resources completely unsustainably at the expense of the next generations.
Now, politicians can barely change it as the older generations rely on that wealth to find their life style and protect it by voting accordingly.
Very few are able to accumulate wealth themselves now unless they inherit it or throw their life away in investment banking.

I am shockingly disappointed with the mods in this thread. No one said there is no impact from population, just that the impact compared to industry is minuscule. And it is a dangerous argument because actual Nazis use it to advocate for genocide, and disregards the fact that most âpopulationâ is coming from poorer countries with less individual impact, while population in western countries that consume more is already falling.
I am genuinely horrified that you keep taking down the links showing this while allowing this dangerous myth to be promoted. Itâs not âbad faithâ to point out how Nazis use this myth to push for genocide when that is exactly what they are doing.

Hi mods - this is high quality information - the overpopulation argument was brought to us and perpetuated by people who advocated for eugenics. I have provided links all over this thread showing how overpopulation is a myth and a dangerous one at that.

I wouldnât have said it if it were not true. We have plenty of evidence. And we have historical evidence of the actual Nazis using overpopulation to justify their actions.

Your second link's second headline: "Math confirms that population is indeed a factor in environmental impact" so you've already disproven your claim that it's a myth. On the other links, while they're slightly better than the piece you initially posted purporting to refute overpoplation published by a "think tank advocating for judeo-christian values" and continued American dominance, whether a jerk or villain uses a specific point to argue for their bad solutions has no impact whatsoever *on the inherent truth or falsehood* of that point.
We try to allow population debates to largely resolve on their own but it's too far over the line into bad faith to assert that acknowledging population as one of the issues leading to environmental crisis is equivalent to nazism, as you've done all over this thread. Comments doing so will be removed.

It could if we used our resources properly and didnât let the billionaires and industry waste so much due to capitalism. Please just go compare resource usage by industry and compare it to individuals. Of course if you prefer to blame poor starving children in the global south, go for it - but the solution to *that* problem is nazi shit, and would change absolutely nothing about how capitalism and industry over produce and over consume.

Please stop perpetuating this overpopulation myth. This is eugenics stuff. Talk about over production - thatâs a capitalism. Talk about over consumption - capitalism again, not population. Oil production and water waste - thatâs industry not individuals - capitalism. Talk about billionaires and their private planes - capitalism not poor individuals in the global south with lots of kids.
The issue is capitalism. Not population. We have more than enough resources to feed, clothe and allow every individual on this planet to survive. Most of it gets thrown in the garbage because it is not profitable to get it to those individuals.
There is no solution to âoverpopulationâ other than killing billions of people - and it wonât be people in the global west that get killed.
Letâs stay focussed on where the problem really lies which is capitalism, and the very wealthy over producing and over consuming. One billionaire has more effect on the climate and the economy than billions of people.
I am so tired of reading this eugenics shit. Stop distracting from the real issues.

Well Iâm Buddhist so a human birth is considered a great opportunity because we can perceive both joy and suffering and self awareness. But thatâs my world view. We have no idea if animals are aware of their mortality. They certainly show fear responses and pain so they also suffer. So there is no point at all in living if you know it ends? Why not off yourself now to get it over with? Iâm asking theoretically, I definitely donât want anyone to hurt themselves
No kidding. Giving up has 0% chance of success, so no thanks.
Any other option is better if it has >0% chance of success. Simple as that. You can pack up your nihilism and jump into the abyss with it and contribute more than backing the "give up" method
Not condoning violence but day 1 there will be natural teams that form to crack these bunkers open and either take what's inside or take out their frustrations. A bunker used to be done by Joe down the street for civil defense. Now it's the epitome of fuck you got mine. No wonder so many companies that make and install them are based on Texas.
While capitalists blame shoplifting, we at r/collapse know that this is a systemic problem based on rent usury, predatory student loans, lack of mental healthcare and general economic despair driving people to shoplift things like baby formula, vegetables, raw meat, toothpaste and first aid supplies.
Walmart can no longer leech from these communities, as they have already taken all there is to take.
The small businesses they destroyed won't come back, and despite the horrible conditions, the rent near this black hole of capitalist tragedy will only continue to go up.
I will not miss the Walmart, and if your conditions require you to shoplift, do it with a clear conscience. If you see someone shoplifting, no you didn't.

If you ever chat with a hospital physician, you might be (un)surprised to learn just how close local health systems have come to collapse over the last eighteen months. I know of a region where multiple times all the local hospitals have been beyond capacity in terms of staffing, beds and ER space, to the point where people would be turned away and told to drive 90 mins to our nearest city hospitals. Itâs happened a few times in the last eighteen months, and itâs a miracle that it didnât spill over into total chaos.
Location: Sonoma County, California
Our local economy has seen a wave of business closures in Q42022 and Q12023. We have a service economy that is driven by wealthy locals and tourists from the Bay Area. Restaurants and stores everywhere here are closing, often times effective immediately with little to no warning given to staff and customers. The amount of vacant store fronts are starting to pile up. My guess is that inflation, interest rates and rent increases are sucking money from the local middle class, and Silicon Valley job cuts are hurting regional tourists.
>I don't know the patient, I don't know their circumstances, but only a couple reasons come to mind; there was an organ transplant waiting and they couldn't have waited six hours for the weather to clear, or the patient was a rich person who insisted on being in a better hospital so they didn't have to be around poor people. And I can't help but be angry⌠The patient couldn't have waited until morning? It had to be an overnight flight? Great. Cool. Awesome results⌠It's a certain kind of selfishness that makes you risk other people just to prolong your own life a mere few hours, and at least four others paid for it. Fucking wasted.

You mean all the graphs done by scientists who have a monetary incentive to agree with the status quo? The scientists whose careers usually go belly up if they say anything against the status quo, even if they are right?
Graphs, statistics and data can very easily be manipulated to look one way without technically being "wrong". Almost all the things they tell you about climate change are things that you cannot see or prove yourself. You'll never go up to Nunavut where they are asking if they can kill more polar bears because there are too many of them. You'll never sail out to the "plastic island. You cannot see the CO2 in the air, NOR can you tell WHAT CO2 particles are created by us. They don't have a "Human" tag or "Exxon Mobil" tag on them.
The job of Scientists is to be wrong 99% of the time, and right only 1% of the time. That's how you get down to the root of knowledge, by being wrong. So once scientists say "The Science is settled", take a whiff because it usually smells like bullshit.

I thought the libertarians were my flavor till they all became racist Trump cucks after the woman THEY picked to run for president against Trump and Biden dared to suggest that actively fighting racism was in line with liberty. When they abandoned her I abandoned them.
In my search for like-minded people that loved guns and liberty and hated racists and bigots the same as I do I first found the smoldering remains of the JBGC and then the SRA. I don't agree with all their beliefs, but I think their hearts are in a much better place than the Threepers.

I would even argue that it is likely there has not been a democracy ever since WW2. And certainly not when Reagan became president.
Reagan was really proof to me that it is not ability and choosing the best candidate, but all about looking good.
In my country we have a lot of different political parties. But the insane thing is that both sides makes the same politics - but with opposite argumentation. In reality there is no real tangible difference - only in posture and historical reference. They shuffle around 1 or maybe 2% of the budget. Add new taxes and expenses, rules, and limitation all the time. They make a tax "stop", but now they pour expenses for everything else and call it something different. Things that used to be free or not having to involve the dictatorship in.
There is no real freedom to do anything. When everything you can do is regulated, needs permissions, needs professionals that are government approved - then there is no freedom.
The only "freedom" is go to work and shut the fuck up. Oh yes we still have the right to question some things, but the politicians just dont give a fuck. So what use is it really?

Russiaâs President, Vladimir Putin, made [a much-anticipated speech on Tuesday](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-64720695), but didnât say much. One thing he did promise is to **suspend Russiaâs involvement in the New START Nuclear Treaty**, a bilateral arrangement with the United States. He also announced that [he is putting ground-based nuclear missiles on âcombat dutyâ](https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-02-21/putin-gives-speech-on-eve-of-ukraine-invasion-anniversary/102005842) to try and ward off western involvement. President Biden made a [surprise visit to Kyiv](https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/feb/20/how-biden-pulled-off-a-visit-to-an-active-ukrainian-war-zone) and then to Poland, (re)stating Americaâs commitment to the defense of Ukraine.
One year into the new invasion of Ukraine, **the War seems set to expand** further. [**China is considering sending drones and ammunition**](https://www.politico.com/news/2023/02/24/china-weapons-russia-ukraine-war-00084425) to Russia. **Casualties** (dead & wounded) on all sides are [**estimated at around 300,000**](https://www.army-technology.com/features/ukraine-russia-war-300000-casualties-in-a-year-of-conflict/), with about two thirds being Russian. The UK [estimates](https://abcnews.go.com/International/russia-ukraine-war-tens-thousands-dead-1st-year/story?id=97247372) that as many as 60,000 Russian soldiers have been killed, though Ukraine says the number is closer to 145,000.
The UN has confirmed the deaths of over 8,000 civiliansâalthough the true number is probably much higher. Some [investigations claim](https://www.grid.news/story/global/2023/02/23/ukraine-war-in-data-a-year-of-casualties-violence-and-displaced-ukrainians/) around 100,000 civilians have diedâso far.
As for Ukrainian soldiers, Ukraine said [as many as 13,000 soldiers had been killed](https://www.grid.news/story/global/2023/02/23/ukraine-war-in-data-a-year-of-casualties-violence-and-displaced-ukrainians/) as of December 2022. Russia claims the figure is much higher. But modern Wars are won on the battlefield as much as they are won in the minds of the people, and [(mis)information has become a powerful means of warfare](https://theconversation.com/ukraine-war-casualty-counts-from-either-side-can-be-potent-weapons-and-shouldnt-always-be-believed-198894) in our hyperconnected world. Even as we Collapse, we connect. Even as we build, we break. Is this newsletter itself a weapon? Is the subreddit? Are you?
The War is expanding into the [minds of Moldovan citizens](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-64746801) as **psy-ops grow** and actors accuse governments of [false flag operations](https://euroweeklynews.com/2023/02/24/russia-false-flag-attack-belarus-ukraine/). Belarus is [reportedly preparing missiles](https://www.newsweek.com/belarus-readying-missiles-combat-ukraine-enters-second-year-war-1783760), while Poland [builds barriers](https://www.republicworld.com/world-news/russia-ukraine-crisis/poland-erects-anti-tank-barriers-on-its-border-with-belarus-and-russia-as-war-enters-2nd-yr-articleshow.html) on its border with Belarus. Meanwhile, [**India is moving closer to Russia**](https://www.businessinsider.com/india-tries-stop-g20-calling-ukraine-invasion-war-2023-2) and [South Africa is conducting military exercises](https://archive.ph/TFVDX) with Russia and China during the one-year invasion anniversary.
Where is this War going to go now? Is Ukraine the new Korea, launching another Cold War between the two superpower coalitions? The American Secretary of State [claimed](https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/blinken-russia-ukraine-nuclear-war-b2288866.html) that Russia might have already used a nuke in Russiaâif China and India hadnât influenced Putin not to. China recently [released a peace plan](https://www.wionews.com/world/china-calls-for-no-use-of-nuclear-weapons-in-russia-ukraine-war-565298) calling on Russia to, among other things, avoid using nukes. Some [lessons](https://mwi.usma.edu/twelve-months-of-war-in-ukraine-have-revealed-four-fundamental-lessons-on-urban-warfare/) of War are being learned; others are more difficult to accept.
Israel has said â[itâs now or never](https://www.jpost.com/middle-east/iran-news/article-732166)â to stop Iranâs growing nuclear capability. They claim **Iran has reached 84% enrichment** levels for some uraniumâalmost enough to create a nuclear bomb. Nuclear weapons [require 90% enrichment](https://archive.ph/Kgv6W), and the nuclear deal negotiations still aren't moving.
Iranâs protests [have failed to effect reform](https://www.dw.com/en/msc-iranian-activists-demand-more-action-from-the-west/a-64769125) amid the unpopular regimeâs unflinching resistance. Meanwhile, Peruâs protests, which have lasted for over two months now, [have settled into widespread friction](https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/secret-safehouse-perus-indigenous-revolt-advances-97308475) between the ruling government and the stalwart peasant supporters of their impeached & ousted Presidente.
Protestors took to the streets [in Sudan](https://www.africanews.com/2023/02/22/sudanese-demostrators-take-to-the-streets-to-protest-military-rule/) over opposition to the military rule which did [a coup](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/October%E2%80%93November_2021_Sudanese_coup_d%27%C3%A9tat) in late 2021. A few thousand protestors in Sri Lanka [marched in favor of elections](https://archive.ph/boLqo) scheduled to occur in early March, but are being delayed for lack of funding necessary to conduct them. And Pakistanâs ousted PM, Imran Khan, [is **trying to organize a massive protest**](https://archive.ph/88LmX) to ~~get back into power~~ force the government to accept an IMF deal and relieve Pakistanâs dire financial condition.
Large-scale [protests in Israel](https://edition.cnn.com/2023/02/20/middleeast/israel-protests-knesset-judicial-reforms-bill-intl/index.html) turned out to show disagreement with Netanyahuâs efforts to empower the Knesset (the Israeli Parliament) to overturn Supreme Court rulings with a simple majority. This reform, when it passes, will be **the most significant change to Israelâs legal system** since its founding. Meanwhile [protests in Tunisia](https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/2/18/tunisia-unions-protest-over-economic-woes-officials-arrest) occurred over cost of living prices and the growing authoritarianism of their President.
China is planning something big: [**launching 13,000 satellites into low-earth orbit**](https://archive.ph/pqwpg) over the next five years. There is a real estate boom in space, and China wants to claim it before Starlink can finish. Some satellites will reportedly be equipped with measures designed to monitor and interfere with Starlink. The total confirmed dead from the earthquakes in TĂźrkiye and Syria is now at **over 50,000**. A coal mine in northern China [collapsed](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-64730607) and killed at least 4, trapping several dozen others. Meanwhile, [India is using emergency measures](https://www.aljazeera.com/economy/2023/2/21/india-invokes-emergency-law-to-force-coal-plants-to-boost-output) to **boost its coal plantsâ production**.
The Climate Action Commissioner of the EU [warned](https://www.cnbc.com/2023/02/17/world-to-face-wars-over-food-and-water-without-climate-action-eu-green-deal-chief-says.html) that **the world will face Wars over food and water** ~~if~~ when no meaningful action is taken to prevent climate change. Parts of the world already see Wars, [like Haiti](https://www.thenewhumanitarian.org/news-feature/2023/02/21/haitis-gang-violence-keeps-population-captive), which has devolved into **violence and scarcity**. Russiaâs War in Ukraine [drives hunger worldwide](https://reason.com/2023/02/20/russias-war-in-ukraine-threatens-starvation-for-the-worlds-poor/), which in turn drives more Wars. **Powerful feedback loops have been set into motion.**
[**Climate migration in America**](https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/feb/23/us-climate-crisis-housing-migration-natural-disasters) is only getting started. A [*Nature Climate Change* study](https://www.nature.com/articles/s41558-023-01594-8) predicted that [housing prices are overvalued](https://www.yahoo.com/now/report-reveals-housing-market-overvalued-181750386.html) in America because of **unacknowledged risks of major flooding**. Presumably there are unacknowledged risks of future drought, pestilence, etc were not properly assessed either.
The effects of climate change [are being detected deep in the ocean](https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-023-30159-0), according to a study in *Scientific Reports*. The data indicate that â**temperature and salinity changes in the subsurface tropical and subtropical North Atlantic are shown to be early indicators for a slowdown of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation.**â The AMOC is a [gigantic series of ocean currents](https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/learn-about/weather/oceans/amoc) that moves warm southern waters to northern Atlantic regions. Mudslides in Brazil [killed 40+](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-64724251), with dozens more still missing. Heavy downpours are [expected](https://von.gov.ng/mozambicans-seek-shelter-as-storm-freddy-makes-landfall/) for a few days. Meanwhile, [**Chile burns**](https://www.plenglish.com/news/2023/02/22/chile-wildfires-kill-over-17000-animals/) with wildfires.
Anxiety itself is a second-order result of climate change, according to [this *Nature Climate Change* study](https://www.nature.com/articles/s41558-023-01617-4). It postulates that **the best remedy to climate anxiety, grief, and apathy is action which reduces climate risks**, not coping mechanisms. The short article recommends hard climate actions (at the house-hold level) instead of general awareness-building and political fluff. But when one generates anxiety, one can also in turn generate actionsâŚ
The earthâs forests [are losing some of their ability](https://www.earth.com/news/land-carbon-stores-are-increasingly-destabilized/) to sequester carbon, since climate change (manmade droughts, topsoil erosion, chemicals, global warming, etc) has **interfered with the natural processes of many trees**. Scientists continue to warn about [ecosystem collapse](https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2023/feb/24/ecosystem-collapse-wildlife-losses-permian-triassic-mass-extinction-study) and mass extinctions, but **nobody is doing anything** about it.

There are 15 non-climate feedback loops, too (human migration, economic growth, declining freshwater, etc). Strap yourself in; this is a dense and dark read.

Perhaps because it has been proven right so many times.
What is different this time is that the world is not seemingly endless anymore nor is resources. They dont take that into account.
Our current society, and capitalism only works well when far away from the limits. The closer the limits the greater the "machine" will stutter eventually causing desperation and revealing the total destruction of literally everything. This has happened countless times when the world was "smaller". Now society is world wide and there is no new place to destroy or move to in desperation.
Will Nuclear Fusion save us from collapseThere are international efforts and trillions of dollars spent in the last decades pursuing this goal for the promise of limitless clean energy. The latest trial produced fusion lasting a record 8 minutes, and this is an exponential improvement over what was possible only a couple years ago.

I don't think you understand the duty of a mod. They're not fact-checkers, they basically remove garbage. You should definitely modmail them, I'm sure help is needed. The more users there are, the more moderators there need to be. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You move to another area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You are a plague, and we are the cure.

>\[...\] Case Study 1: The Lorax
>
>Since the publication of Dr. Seuss's The Lorax in 1971, the book's titular character has become an icon and has been remixed over time, across genres, and been interpreted through numerous lenses. Many of Dr. Seuss's characters remain culturally relevant, but none more than the Lorax, who plays a prominent role in environmentalist subculture.
>
>The Lorax is an environmental icon for its ability to stand alone and be recognized as an environmental message. Since its initial publication, there have been more than 200 million copies sold, the illustration has circulated through numerous media, including protest signs, t-shirts, and a 2012 Universal Pictures animated movie ([Dailey, 2012](https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fcomm.2022.883278/full#B9)). The original illustration and meme renditions remain dominant in many subcultures today.
>
>Written one year after the first Earth Day in 1970 and at the beginning of the environmental movement, The Lorax provided several takeaway messages for a budding environmentalism. Dr. Seuss painted the fictional world of Thneedville with words and images of fertile land with thriving ecosystems and smiling animals that starkly contrasts the antagonists, the Once-ler's, desire for profit that eventually leaves the land dark and barren. Warnings of a post-apocalyptic world, messages on environmental degradation, a nod toward the dangers of capitalism, and an individual character with determination to save trees are interwoven through the book.
>
>Environmentalists identify with the Lorax's representation of being an environmental crusader. The Lorax is met with resistance and stubbornness from the Once-ler just as today's environmentalists are met with resistance from corporations and capitalism. The Lorax, representing today's activist fighting against corporations, is captured perfectly in the political image of the Lorax wearing a t-shirt of Exxon, Pepsico, and Doritos, common corporations that environmentalists identify as the antagonist. \[...\]
Just like with [the Limits to Growth and its "50 year updateâ](https://i.imgur.com/wyazYvH.png), I thought that I would make my own tribute to The Lorax by giving [an old poem of mine (two years old now)](https://www.reddit.com/r/collapse/comments/ouoavn/comment/h7494c0/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) some new life using Dr. Seussâs original storybook illustrations. I like to imagine that this piece is a convincing update more in line with todayâs modern zeitgeist. Hereâs the full text, albeit with some minor alterations from the original:
>I am the Lorax, and I once spoke for the trees
>I cried for the birds and I wept for the bees
>I am the Lorax, and I am resigned to my fate
>Humanity was awful. Civilization? Not great!
>
>I am the Lorax, and I tire of debate:
>"Collapse is coming, just be patient, just you wait.
>No one will be spared from the trial and tribulation;
>No one is safe, no matter your station."
>
>The Lorax flew away, his audience aghast
>Just how long would our society last?
>Famine, pestilence, or war - take your pick
>Leaving nothing but despair, pain, and havoc.
>
>So say your good bye, good day, and farewell,
>For humanity is doomed, its heaven turned hell
>And so ends the story of our pretty blue home
>I am the Lorax, and the Earth is our catacomb.

This probably falls under the 'economic' flair. Published recently on Globe Street, the following article covers the overvaluation of homes in this brave new world. Collapse related because housing bubbles never pop quietly, and the burst has lasting effects...

Climate Change Could Mean Homes are Overvalued by $121 to $237 Billion Dollars
I agree with Hedges. A lot of people voted for Trump just to say fuck you to the establishment. Many got fooled into thinking he had some kind of plan to really change things, which turned out to be false, as anyone who saw Trump for what he really was could guess.
Yeah I guess you could call Putin a challenger. But too many people want to see him as some kind of anti-hero because he stands up to US-dominated globalism. He used to say he wasn't trying to rebuild Russia in the image of the USSR, but thats a half-truth. Lots of journalism has come out over the years about how angry he was with Russia's treatment by the US under Yeltsin. He may not want to reform the USSR, be he seems interested in making Russia something like its cousin. And unlike in the corporate-controlled US, Putin has the power to clamp down on finance oligarchs, but he never really has. He's also got a personal fortune somewhere in the billions, possibly in the hundreds of billions, but no one knows because hes hidden it all over the place.
And have you ever looked at a databse of journalists [killed in Russia?](https://cpj.org/data/?status=Killed&start_year=1992&end_year=2023&group_by=location&motiveConfirmed%5B%5D=Confirmed&type%5B%5D=Journalist) . Not that hard when you look at these to figure out many of the perpetrators were sent by the state. The US has become a shitty place in a lot of ways, but if I was a journalist, I'd rather be here than Russia. I think calling Putin "not a great guy" is a bit of an understatement. People can craft their delusions around him if they so choose, but for me personally, the US being shitty doesn't make him more appealing.
China is more appealing as a US-alternative in some ways but the ccp has its own faults, thats for sure. The US has some kooky religions, but at least we don't have state-sponsored work camps for religious minorities. China's strength is their ability to work as a collective quickly when the situation demands it, and that may help them survive a moderate collapse scenario. But a future ruled by China would probably be bad in a lot of ways. Capitalism undergirds China now just like everywhere else, and its just a poisonous there as it is here.
Most of the world is ready for the US to go under, I agree, and as someone interested in foreign policy history, thats perfectly understandable. Our actions have wrought enormous destruction around the world. God, if every US citizen had to read Stephen Kinzers work, patriotism would never recover. The question is whats going to come after the US? Will it be better? Probably will be in some ways, and worse in others. People are just looking for something different like you say. But to the question of world leadership, with the US, Russia, and China as candidates, the answer is - Everybody Sucks Here. I have some faith in Europe but it looks inevitable that China will assume the mantle of World Leader - if collapse doesn't happen first.
Finally, I'll say I'm pretty skeptical of the 'Ukraine is filled with nazis' idea. Yeah they have some neo-nazis, so does every country in Europe and north america. But if you look at their election results, its pretty mixed. Most of them the far-right parties do badly or middling. It would be one thing if they swept through parliament. Ukraine has a corruption problem, which again, is a problem with a lot of eastern European countries. I think its funny how money greasing palms in a former USSR country is called corruption, in the US its called capitalism. Yeah they might not win and they aren't the 'good guys' in some movie-script sense, but Russia's narrative about the political state of Ukraine is 90% bullshit.
John Mearshsheimer has argued that the war is really about Putin feeling threatened by Nato, and the US-led political/economic alliance in general. The US just refuses to halt Nato expansion. It probably should have stopped with western europe. I find this argument more convincing then Putin vs corrupt-nazis.
Its crazy the global economy has gotten to the point where a relatively contained conflict like this, in terms of geography, can threaten the whole world order. I think it speaks to how fragile things really are.
It's become dizzying trying to decide who to trust, what to worry about, or what to believe in anymore. My take? My pantry isn't overflowing with Charmin at the moment, but if you connect the dots of all the news stories, and the science, it seems perfectly non-sensational to presume this might get on top of us sooner rather than later. Climate change exacerbates the proliferation of viruses, and climate change seems to be moving faster than Usain Bolt on trucker speed, so I don't feel conspiracy-y when I say I'm moderately concerned. It could all be clickbait sensationalism too for all I know, but if COVID taught me anything it's that shit like this is FAR beyond my control.
Mainly they just sit there collecting dust. I certainly don't want to hunt unless it's for survival because I'd feel bad. I got way into the hobby for a couple years, but to be honest I haven't gone in a long time. After a promotion at work the majority of my time has been spent either working or vegging in front of the TV because I'm exhausted (or jogging lol).
I keep meaning to get out there more. I have thousands of rounds of 9mm from when ammo was way cheaper, pre-covid. I've got pistols, an AR, 12 gauge, and a 22, but no solid ranged rifle. So I'd say I mainly just shoot at targets 25 yards away or less. Or I break clays with the 12 gauge-that's my favorite.
If shit were to hit the proverbial fan, I wouldn't be a very menacing threat since I'm no sharpshooter, so my main goal would probably just be to get my wife and myself out of immediate danger and try to get to family/friends/some sort of community. I don't plan to cosplay as Rambo or anything, since I would probably just die.
Rule 10, don't submit links as self posts. However, I'll leave this one up as it's been 15 hours and seems ok otherwise.

People got murdered, raped and genocided in their home counry by invaders - and you say "There is no ''right'' side in any war" are you fucking kidding me.
"I mean, who cares? Animals and plants are dying by the thousands. People are in critical danger. I understand there is always a political layer to it. But, why are we even focusing on that instead of the health of everyone involved? Why is no one doing something ? Is everyone just an NPC?"
Why is no one doing anything? Everyone in our government is in the pockets of the companies that do shit like this so they aren't going to do anything because they profit from it. And individuals won't do anything because if they did, the cops would murder them without a second thought. Welcome to the empire and its downfall

Do something against who or whom? Where does the accountability lie? How can such action be carried out?
If you follow the trail of money it's obvious the government, corporations and police are bed with each other. And the blanket we call capitalism keeps them nice and cozy.
The reason there's fud over this is people would blame their own mothers than capitalism. The awful reality is plenty love this shithole system and rather hold theatrics to make it seem like the oppression is "curable" though systematized opposition.
The first step to solving a problem is realizing you have one. A lot of folks aren't empathetic enough to make that step. And even then you have to come to terms that you're fighting a near 200 year old monolith. It's not something one could contend facing off without a large unionized group.
We've had plenty of warnings that the rot is deep and people ignored it because it "wasn't us/me". As well as being convinced that it's their neighbors instead of the charlatans pointing behind a curtain. And don't get me started on the crusades of religious fallacy to further inhibit critical thinking.
One last thing, democrat and republicans aren't the "same", one is obviously worse than the other. But the thing about democrats being anything beyond decent is foolish(look at the voting history). It's a good cop bad cop role, but the pendulum will never swing towards progress because there are enough saboteurs halt the entire system. Again those saboteurs are placed by capitalists and their power craving pals. Meaningful action within the system is nothing more than a pipedream.
The entire interview talks about the excuses Russia promotes to invade and murder in Ukraine but completely ignores the reasons Russia actually invaded.
Russia needs the occupied territories for its vast oil and gas reserves....period. No oil and gas, no invasion. No Crimean annexation. End of discussion.
The Russian focus on oil and gas for its economy has turned it into a zombie petrostate with no future if it loses price setting monopoly power for its exports to the EU. Ukraine and other countries threatened that future. Offshore reserves in the Arctic are too expensive to develop at present energy prices. Ukraine and other southern resources were the only path to rapidly declining energy production in the near future.
But beyond that, the failure of conventional means to ending invasionary conquest spells the beginning of the era where nuclear weapons are the only means to sovereignty and security for a state.
Paul Jay's position actually promoted the reignition and amplification of the expansion of the nuclear arms race globally, to more states. The Russian invasion, after all, would never have happened if Ukraine could have vaporized downtown Moscow and St Petersburg. The Iraq invasion never would have happened if Washington DC could have been turned into a lifeless wasteland. And the willingness to suicide the world to prevent invasions will become just as enticing as the threats to suicide the world if a country is not "allowed" to invade and pillage another.
The effectiveness of a conventional response is critical. Paul Jay disagrees, but smarter people know how this will play out, for exactly the same reasons it played out before in history....acquiescence in the ability to end aggression via conventional means demanded nuclear capability development. India. China. N Korea. Pakistan.
And soon...everywhere else.
You really think that if this happens the navies and Air forces of the EU won't slaughter these migrants?
You really think that if this happens the navies and Air forces of the EU won't slaughter these migrants?
Humanity is a plague on the earth.
Humanity is a plague on the earth.
*Why is no one doing something ? Is everyone just an NPC?*
This shit is classic.

Man, problems are hard. I know you're not wanting to hear this, but problems are fucking hard. Billions are spent on super site clean up and remediation and it isn't enough. Billions are spent on safety and industrial and organizational controls and it isn't enough.
At the end of the day, this is just another disaster on a long list.
Politics makes you stupid.
Thank you for this! It's definitely a lot more humid out here, and I'm very close to the ocean myself. The humidity I love, but with AQI readings on home air purifiers, even with humidifiers off (for plants), my readings come up higher if only from the humidity (also from large amount of plants) while the individual reading for carbon monoxide and nitrogen dioxide are fine. AQI however, is completely different if I move the purifier to a different room.
I'm going to hold on to both of those because I also searched around Kern county since I'm familiar with the (*alarmingly* polluted) area and there's no surprises there. IQAir's global feature makes me profoundly sad for India. "Progress" tied to industry growth rather than population health and happiness makes the map... ominous.

"But things have changed so much since the Spanish Flu! Look at the advances in sanitation and knowledge that have happened. Heck, back then, people didn't even cover their faces when working with flu patients because they didn't know any better.
Today, the second we see a pandemic potentially forming, we send medical teams to recon it. If it becomes huge, then we limit travel, tell people to stay home and avoid each other.
Western governments might get taxed a bit, but other nations can be isolated fairly easily. Any pandemic would just burn itself out."
My god. It's cheese at this point.
Suicide is a pretty big incentive for a lot of mass shootings. It's as if they can't bring themselves to do it until they put themselves in a hopeless situation where the other option is life in prison.
Been working on mine since 2012.
Only 2 left that I really want to are : helicopter ride and gun range.
I've noticed a big uptick in missing persons reports out here that have ended up suicides. Also, we're in a "tainted drug supply crisis," but I think it's more likely we're in a suicide crisis, and people are opting to check out with opiods/fentanyl.

Cordyceps is not the fungi you should be concerned with. Cryptococcus is the most likely version of The Last Of Us. Global warming isn't the reason for an increase in virulence. It's background radiation levels. If you place a map of the hot zones over higher radiation zones, you will understand the problem more clearly.
Cryptococcus is already infecting our glial cells. It turns astrocytes into ROS weapons after splicing our DNA. It's getting closer to CNS control as we ignore the most intelligent and creative pathogen. This fungi goes directly for your brain. You inhale it, it disseminates through the lungs, then uses a Trojan horse technique to pass the blood brain barrier by hiding inside a white blood cell.
r/cosmicdeathfungus will lead you down the rabbit hole. đ
That part of the title says it all. We can't even stop just doing the damage because we don't want to give up what we've created, to go a step further and change the very core of society for a different future is a huge leap. There will be some changes by necessity at the last minute, but changes of any sort should have happened long ago to have a good result overall. Like with actually undoing what we've caused, a modification of society would require a wartime level effort (or greater?) and there's no incentives to taking that capitalism suicide route. Survival of the species and of the biosphere? That gets a shrug or a laugh or a meme, or name calling of doomer. Yet...here it comes.

And anyone buying and believing this shit has not paid attention to how these continually manufactured debt crises end, and is hopelessly brainwashed.

- if in the previous organisation (school or workplace) you made a buddy with whom you share more than gossip on the place and workload, make a habit of seeing them outside of the place where you met before you leave (ideally sharing a mutual hobby), and continue seeing them several times a year at least after you move on to the next workplace.
- when you or your friend moves away keep long distance communications with them (skipe, letters, christmas cards, texts ...), invite them over and stop by when you're travelling near their home
- switch your phone on plane mode when you need to relax at least one hour a day, and forget it at home when you go for a walk - have baskets in which to set the phones when you have friends around if they can't keep their eyes of them - or simply tune off the notifications for several hours
- use the public transport, or carpool - it's better for the planet anyway
- join a local association about something you care about or some hobby, and become part of a community.
For sure you'll always end isolated if you let the system decide for you how to lead your life, because it is run by the most power-crazed of us, and abusive people always start by isolating their target(s).
This right here. In actuality, the cities aren't using much water at all. It's all agriculture. But they don't want you to know that agriculture is hogging all the water to make crops like almonds (which take over a gallon of water to grow a single almond) in the middle of the desert. The breakdown is something like 15% of the water in the Southwest is used by cities and 85% is used by agriculture.
The truth is, there's plenty of water still for living. We just have to start cracking down on the real consumers of water. Maybe instead of growing water intensive crops in the desert, perhaps grow them next to the Great Lakes? You know, the largest sources of freshwater on the planet?

Within r/collapse, there seems to be a divide when it comes to the topic of so-called human overpopulation.

Isn't it strange that the people who give so much thought to a genocidal holocaust as the solution to an imagined overpopulation problem never, ever, ever implement their ideas by starting with themselves?
How will you ever get your asshole up next to the side mirror?
Most of these niche subs that turn very popular just become âgeneralâ subs. The mods give up and people just start upvoting any shit to top.
I would. I mean, do we really want to prop up/be associated with unfounded, anti-science conspiracy theories? Climate deniers are *part* of why we are in this mess in the first place, right?
Edit: read the article, reported it to mods after reading this bit âThe pseudo-pandemic didnât help there, it being largely an elite-generated (and professionally-maintained) illusion, although itâs worth bearing in mind that there was a virus, and it was killing some people. It is actually quite rare for power lie outright; it is much more effective when propaganda is based on truth, clearly communicated.â
This seems more like a low-quality article issue. Should I ping the mods?
Normies are welcoming the new normalThere's a local weather guy on Facebook who I follow for updates. He posted today about how it looks like we're still not going to get snow anytime soon here in Southern New England. There may be a slim chance of some flurries tonight, but it's looking like weather patterns are holding and we are going to get a warm spell for the foreseeable future. Mind you, other than being in the teens around Christmas and a super short-lasted 1-in snowstorm right before the holidays.. it has been mostly rainy and warm here, like the spring.
But what blew my mind and depressed me more was seeing the comments to his post on Facebook. A lot of people I don't know talking about how happy this makes them. They were making comments about how they were excited they no longer had to clean snow off their sidewalk or pay someone to plow. They were excited their kids wouldn't have snow days and they wouldn't have to miss a day of work. One guy said that he can't stand snow and his prayers are being answered, while another woman said she was hopeful for an early spring and a hot and balmy summer because that's her favorite. Of course there were comments with people sad, like me, saying that they missed making igloos with their grandchildren or sledding or going snowboarding. People talking about how this is bad for the kids, bad for the economy, how this new normal is nowhere near fun. But the majority of the voices, from what I saw, were people glad that we basically killed winter. And it makes me want to cry đ˘
I had the cynical thought years ago that climate change would finally be accepted as a reality, but the narrative would be about how awesome it is. A narrative mostly being told by conservative media and former deniers who are trying to double down on their losses and make it sound like this is a benefit to us. And, maybe just for my small anecdote it doesn't mean anything, but I do think that this might be our coming reality. *Climate change will no longer be denied, but people will be welcoming it with open arms because it's "awesome" they can go to the beach in March or not have to spend money to travel somewhere warm.* Never underestimate the power of stupid, I suppose
How will European countries react to the massive flow of climate refugees? As someone living in the Mediterranean coast (in the European part of the sea), Iâve always wondered what would be the reaction of the EU and other European states once a massive flow of climate refugees start to become âproblematicâ.
Knowing that the Syrian refugee crisis almost caused irreversible damage into the EU, and how many countries used the situation to treat refugees horribly (like letting them die in the sea or freeze to death in the borders), I have little hope in our reaction in the future to actual climate refugees.
My other question is: will this mass migration start when we hit the 1.5 rise in global temperature (so before or in the 2030s) or will it happen in the scenario of a rise of 2?
When does the violence begin to occur? Is it necessary for people to be homeless and starving?
Are there just still too many people in the fuck you got mine phase?
Dark times are coming. You can feel it in the air, you can see it hidden under the faces.
Does anyone else feel that if it weren't for modern nukes, we'd be drafting for World War III right about now?
Whoa whoa whoa, where are you going to get sex / snuff slaves from, if you murder everybody?
Yep.
Lived in Oklahoma.
Neighborhood of 30 houses developed on private plot.
Gravel roads went to shit.
Couldn't get community to form a trust to fund a solution.
They said "We'll just have the country absorb us."
I asked. County said "Can't do it, no funds, and 20x communities like you."
When I informed the neighborhood that they couldn't just miracle away their problems they lost their fucking mind. I was the bad guy, of course.
I have two dogs, including a Doberman who is a total butthead no matter what I do with her. It is on ME to control my dogs, not the people around us.
That Jogger has every right to be irritated.
Most unfortunately, yes.
I wouldn't be buying any land within a thousand miles of the equator. Or anything below 100 foot sea level. And make sure you have enough land to farm all your own food.
lol. Good luck, assholes.
If you "can't help" getting annoyed at the activists... why on earth aren't you absolutely enraged by what the politicians have done.....
.....but.... strangely....... your not worried about that... just Greta and her "cronies" is it?

The only answer is class war
The only answer is class war
The thing that I was struck by when I had a go was the question 'how can I know this is accurate?'. I tried testing Chat GPT on a few topics I know a bit about.
ChatGPT passed well for more common issues such as climate change and even civilizational collapse quoting Limits to Growth and refencing 2040 as a pivotal period. However, on the academic theory 'Residualist Conversion of Social Problems' by Jamrozik and Nocella (1998) it was dead wrong. Nicely written and no doubt convincing for anyone unfamiliar with Jamrozik and Nocella's work, but flat out wrong.
As such programs get better they will no doubt getore accurate with more obscure texts. But, who will know? The more obscure, the fewer people thede will be to point out the flaw. And as more and more text is authored by, or with the assistance of, such software, these programs will increasingly be refeencing their own words. Without some actual thinking behind the algorithm, what is to stop ideas slowly heading off on a tangent as successive iterations produced results that increasingly reinforce emergent properties twisting ideas and concepts into something else altogether. Seems an argument for oversight.
But then, perhaps, the energy needs for such things will hit the hard wall of collapse. When our collective ability to generate the necessary power for these algorithms to morph concepts into sophisticated word salad is undermined, we will once again be left with our brains.
Location: Colombia.
Best wishes to everyone, please be safe and try to spend some time doing the things you love, weâre all going through some difficult times and I honestly donât expect an easy landing any time soon.
Food is crazy expensive man, in just a week a kilo of strawberries went up $600 COP (thatâs around half a US dollar). Milk is through the roof, idk if almond milk is more expensive than cowsâ in other countries, but that stopped being the case here. Today I went for groceries and lo and behold: milk has reached $40k COP for the first time! (Thatâs around $13 USD for 6 bags of milk if we adjust it to inflation).
I also wanted to be healthier this year and man, since everything is so ridiculously expensive, healthy foods are more or less the same (or even cheaper) than fast foods and the like. Iâm baffled and find it atrocious how *everything* has sugar in it. Pasta, rice, bread, milk⌠you name it, ofc everyone is getting diabetes left and right, we consume loads of sugar every day!
Cooking oil is also absurdly expensive now, margarine is a cheaper alternative.
From a healthcare perspective Iâm simply disappointed. Itâs like everyone gave up, no one seems to care for their patients anymore; did humanism jump out the window? Or is it that everybody only wants to collect their pay-check and say bye-bye?
And from my own perspective: some days Iâm anxious/scared. I just want it to end. Sure, Iâm almost done paying my student loans, but idk, itâs like older gens are brainwashed. Im not buying a car anytime soon, thatâs like 5 years of work (or more depending on your income), and in 5 years itâll be 2028 and weâll be nearing oil depletion worldwide, so why bother? It feels like I have no things to look forward to, I donât even feel sad, Iâm just disappointed.
If the outlook was more optimistic, I might change my mind, however, all I see are people struggling to live no matter where I go, people who gave up long ago, and people who are so deep in denial you can already hear them say: âwhy did no one tell us this would happen?â
Iâm worried about my parents and grandparents, I know from a historical pov that the elderly and young kids are the first to die in trying times, so Iâm trying my best. Unfortunately, it seems like no matter what I do, it is never enough.
I hate this, Iâm not even contemplating suicide but damn, could we please hurry up a bit? We need collapse to happen, this mess canât be cleaned up otherwise.

This was about to happen around the 1960s or so - but then we got insanely lucky by the Green Revolution and inventing the Haber-Bosch Process. With this we managed to avert the catastrophe. As a result people claimed that Malthus was wrong and that we arent overpopulated. Nothing could be farther from the truth.
We got insanely lucky and pushed doomsday away - but at the expense of nature and the biosphere. The reconing is rapidly approaching though.

We are about to reach peak oil that is absolutely important for our agriculture - especially artificial fertilizer. Then we have climate change, soil erosion, soil depletion of nutrients etc etc. And by 2050 we are expecting 10 Billion + people.
Sustainably we could perhaps feed 4-5 Billion people. To feed 8 Billion or 10 Billion we need a perfectly functioning system that gets everything out of the soil and is artificially boosted by fertilizer at the expense of future generations. So yes we are overpopulated and soon it will come back to bite us because people were in denial.

Reached peak water:
If present trends continue, 1.8 billion people will be living with absolute [water scarcity](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_scarcity) by 2025, and two-thirds of the world could be subject to [water stress](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_stress).[\[9\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peak_water#cite_note-UNEP2007-9) Ultimately, peak water is not about running out of freshwater, but about reaching physical, economic, and environmental limits on meeting human demands for water and the subsequent decline of water availability and use

So yes we are overpopulated and soon it will come back to bite us because people were in denial.
bad people, good people. it doesn't matter.
i want less people, and i just don't care. peple who truly understand collapse ("poPuLatIon Is nOt tHe pRoBLeM" means you don't understand shit) want less people no matter what. the JWF is just a veil used to hide this true desire, since it's socially unpalatable.
this culture places far too much weight on being alive / existence. they won't help you in any way to make this existence bearable though, but supposedly being alive is the be all and end all, because.... reasons.

Belarus sees the same kind of revolt that Ukraine went through (with same levels of Western involvement, because why the heck not) and declares independence under threat of joining NATO. Russian gov collapses, it's 1990s all over again, the territories are declaring independence and building their own governments with suspiciously western sounding leaders. All the while, there is a humanitarian catastrophe unfolding, but no one cares, "they're ~nazis~ russians" Š Hellsing Abridged
I think Putin will get assassinated or he will commit suicide.
The real issue is the discovery of oil, and it's waste product.
Oil bumped up productivity, with humans using it for transport, products and heat. The waste product now exceeds the total benefit we've received, to our destruction.
8 Billion burning oil is suicide.
I love how half the sub becomes frothing revolutionaries as soon as someone does anything neat. I mean really, how *dare* you?? Stew in misery like the rest of us, you bastard.

You misspelled "Expenses"
This belief aligns with what i said. We will inevitably be on a path to collective suicide and hell while we hold on this notion about our nature. Cynicism is a defense mechanism against being hurt again from believing in the goodness of things. Better to disbelieve it and not be hurt again..

Must be fun to have such an idiotic view of biology.
how many times now? how many times have we heard this and it's never gone anywhere? some "highly evasive" "superstrain" "vaccine resistant" "nightmare variant" (with an unpronounceable string of greek and english letters with a hash key of numbers) has popped up in the news once every 3 weeks on average just this year, and that's the last we ever hear of it before we're onto the next one. Hop off the damn treadmill already.

I'm just glad today's treatment of women regularly being able to go toe-to-toe with 12 heavily armed men while cracking quips and one-liners isn't cringe in its own right, lol

You know good and well that systemic oppression can be normalized and rendered invisible to the perpetrator. That is what is happening with carnism. Excuses are made about the "lowliness" of the victims. Yeah animals aren't humans but do they suffer? Do they love their young? Do they want to live?
Working for causes that improve human society is a good thing thing but that takes a lot of time and people have jobs. Removing the oppression from your plate is literally something that we actually have the power to change right away and without having to join an organization or movement. *Its not one or the other.*
I'm not saying that others don't do it differently. You are straw manning the crap out of me. I didn't say I was going around to people living traditionally and telling them they are doing it wrong, now did I? I said we don't need meat to live a healthy life.
"Just because you can't kill without excess". Who do you mean there? White people?
"without excess" is not where MOST people get their meat and even if they do sometimes get it from a place raised properly they will often NOT abstain from buying the badly raised meat when they don't have the better kind available. Just because it CAN be done well doesn't excuse paying factory farmed meat.
you know what I can't with this conversation right now. you are just throwing out all the tropes. Go to r/debateavegan if you want to see them all and read the vegans responses to them. Or watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWp9qBTz1a8
I have a question for the pro-censorship people. Like if you all want censorship to be always towards the government opinion on things then how will you stop the next "Iraq has weapons of mass destruction" government lie to justify killing half a million people?
I know the government will kill no matter what we do, but at least in the past I could criticize it. That won't be true in the future (unless twitter survives).

Far left wing extremism is growing just as fast and far right these days. People seem to forget /ignore that. Never been on Twitter but it's Musk's pumpkin now and he can carve it up/run it into the ground anyway he wants. Crap content will drive away reasonable people and send that platform into the sewer like Parler, Telegram et al. There, the ignorant bigots on the far left and right can wallow in their own shit talk and conspiracies.
There are greater tragedies in life than the demise of a social media platform.
Next in sports.

How could they make a change? As a species we're collectively too stupid to not overpopulate this place with imbeciles.
You should see what our Canadian government has just done. They took away a shit ton of hunting rifles, even ones our indigenous population rely upon for sustenance. While saying they werenât, and then when caught red handed changed their tune to âthey could use other hunting methodsâ.
The Canadian government idolizes the Chinese gov and I hope our southern neighbours notice.
Try to die in a warm room. We wouldn't want the kitty to be breaking teeth on your frozen corpse.
Despite being warned + faster than expected is going to be quite the shit show
I bought 5 different gallon jugs of water for under a dollar each. A 5 pound tub of peanut butter is like $8 or less, and has like 10,000 calories, plus fats and proteins you need. You can get a couple pounds of rice for a few dollars. So for \~$15 you can have enough food and water for your family to have a few weeks of bare survival level food and water. No need for useless anecdotes. There are very few people who can't afford $15 before an emergency with warnings given a long time in advance. Sure, there are people who can't afford to do that, but that is destitute poverty, and more so what you see with the homeless, not the majority of Americans.
The fact is, you can prepare for these things for very cheap, people are just ignorant to the dangers, and poor or rich, don't like thinking about the bad things that can happen. That again is a useless and patently false anecdote.
