Reanimated Rodents and The Meaning of Life
Why The Growth Of Our Cryonics Community Is Important
Researchers at UC Berkeley successfully revived human heart tissue after it had been preserved in a subfreezing, supercooled state for one to three days. Researchers were able to prevent the formation of ice crystals that could have damaged the micro heart muscle cells

Why are there so few Cryonics patients and services available?I don't know much about Cryonics, but from the subreddit wiki it seems there are only a few hundred "patients" and services are only offered in the US and a few other countries.
Given the field has been around for decades and the cost seems pretty low why are there so few actual "patients"?

Cryonics: time travel without a time machine – קריוניקה ישראל [article from Omer Yuval of Cryonics Israel]
We are not in the business of trying to conquer death. Cryonics is simply a medical procedure to mitigate death. Many who are questioning cryonics often have this idea that cryonicists are "extraordinary" persons who view death as some sort of "myth." Many think that cryonics is "another ideology" that those with the fear of death adopt. This is an understandable misconception, but I would like to point out that cryonicists come from all walks of life: rich, poor, religious and non-religious.
Don't get me wrong, we are not slackers, but we do view cryonics like any other surgical procedure. We accept that there is a time and a place for everything. It is natural for humans to fear death, but we make rational choices in life to mitigate this fear, whether it's by buying life insurance, purchasing health insurance, obtaining advanced medical directives (in certain states), etc.
We are not in the business of trying to conquer death. Cryonics is simply a medical procedure to mitigate death. Death is uncontrollable (man-made and natural disasters aside); however, we can mitigate its degree and severity. Cryonics is just one of the tools we have available.
The above text was all generated by [Jurassic I](https://www.ai21.com/studio), a model that uses deep learning to produce human-like text. I'm pretty blown away by the quality and actually found this to be an interesting perspective. Perhaps this is interesting to cryonicists, so I wanted to share it with you.
