"BTC and BCH have taken different approaches to this problem... (scalability) where BTC has essentially become, according to its vision, a low volume, high fees network. BCH is aiming to be a high volume, low fee network (...) the problem with having a high fee network is that it severely restricts the utility of the system (...) over the long run, the utility of cryptocurrency outweighs the value of a purely speculative asset"

Exactly and that's where crypto taps in, borderless, global and unstoppable. For now, the fiat system blocks people from choosing an alternative. As an industry, we should never forget why we're doing this, we might have the freedom that others aspire to, we owe it to them to build something that empowers those who need it the most.

All the questions you've risen are an expression of someones interests or personal ambitions. There's no lumping in crypto, everyone is free to choose. Diversity should be cherished, as one coin can not represent everyone on this planet. This technology surely questions the ethos of current politics, but it doesn't mean this space is free from it :)

I don't think we can be. Crypto is redefining governance, politics, social constructs and more. We might have to reconsider what it means to be political?

Pure economic activity is always a representation of a political/geographical situation. For example, if I hold EUR/CHF this will represent the economy/country I live in. Fiat assets can tell a lot about a person, but with cryptocurrencies we go one step further, as crypto can represent much more. In the future, atomic swaps/interoperable blockchains will allow you to spend your XYZ, even if the vendor doesn't directly supports "your" coin. The vendor's choices won't matter in the long term, as the UI/UX of wallets will do the hard work for you and eventually give you full freedom to spend the coin you choose to hold (hopefully). Ps: I'm always happy to have a conversation, as we keep learning we need to debate! Sometimes, things can get emotional, but it's because we care so much :)

All of these meetups started small, with likeminded individuals gathering in bars to discuss the future. Many wanted to step outside into the real world to discuss what the internet told them was possible :) Now the ecosystem has several sub communities, organizing regular monthly events. It’s in your hands to create your own community in Canada, I’m sure that you can find other blockchain enthusiasts around you! All the best and if you need any marketing tips let me know 😘

Banks are not our enemies, crypto politics and egomania, leading to inner censorship of the space has been our biggest challenge. Our own demons, have also made this space stronger. We've learned to debate, fork and move on! In the long term, BTC will be remembered for its politics and censorship culture ("The days of Censorship") while BCH will thrive and be used. BCH was born in chaos, is defining itself everyday and has a stronger community that just wants to move on. Thanks you [u/newhampshire](https://www.reddit.com/user/newhampshire) for the reminder, we all need to remember and learn from our crypto history to build the future.

1. Leave your crypto on an exchange 2. Not owning your private keys 3. Falling for a scam, lack of research 4. Not getting involved in the community :) 5. Don't panic sell and buy the dip! Voila hope this could help a little ☺️

I like this question, this is why I wrote an [article](https://blog.btc.com/ready-for-pow-28caf03c2ae2) about the Proof of Work protocol to be able to explain it to crypto beginners and it's importance in keeping the network secure!

I think it depends how you define efficient and reliable... but I do believe that Proof of Work protocol has kept the bitcoin network secure for almost a decade. Check out [my latest medium article detailing the PoW protocol for crypto beginners](https://blog.btc.com/ready-for-pow-28caf03c2ae2) fore more insights 😊

#### I 've been using the [btc.com](https://wallet.btc.com/#/setup/register) wallet (it does only hold BTC and BCH, so if you need more coin support not the best option) but in addition to being a multi-sig wallet, it's also a [HD wallet](https://blog.btc.com/wallets-wallets-everywhere-c8753b95f9c3). Hope this can help you out 😬

Everything else than Bitcoin is considered to be an altcoin. However, I would argue that even Bitcoin is an altcoin to DigiCash, HashCash... 😬
