My man, Steam Deck does has ray tracing

Yeah here in Italy it’s 420€ including the taxes, it’s unbeatable but I’m scared about the speed of the 64GB not being enough for future games I might wanna try on PC that are a bit heavier, and to be hones I’m scared of having to tinker with settings. I already do a tech job for most of the day. When I play I want the plug and play experience, and well, Linux gives me pure terror. That’s why I’m almost exclusively playing on Switch and PS4/5 since two years ago.

Il mio pc ha integrato un cosino che si fa scorrere davanti alla webcam.

Se sei interessato ai AAA sarebbe meglio una PS5, su un bel monitor hdmi 2.1 avresti le modalità “fino a 120fps”. Se vuoi un Pc ti consiglio di risparmiare e prendere un AMD Ryzen 5600.

Il primo GoW per PS2 faceva schifo, ma poi la saga è migliorata tantissimo. Il 2 per me è stato divertimento puro e i nuovi sono degli incredibili capolavori. Non perderteli.

Di Telltale ho giocato anche Guardiani Della Galassia, pensa. È rarissimo ormai! Yakuza è una serie incredibile e non puoi perdertela. Si inizia da Zero e poi si giocano i remake di 1 e 2, chiamati Kiwami 1 e 2. Sono rifatti tenendo in mente l’esistenza di Zero che è un prequel. L’unica cosa che devi sapere è che in Zero non ci sia autosalvataggio quindi salva spesso, non rischiare! Però davvero saga incredibile e non devi perdertela. Hai finito la saga dei Souls? Hai giocato Demon’s, Bloodborne ed Elden Ring? Hai giocato tutti gli AC compreso Valhalla che per me è incredibile? Hai giocato i God of War? Horizon e Days Gone?

Si dovrebbe vedere nelle impostazioni di Streamlabs comunque se è disponibile l’opzione QuickSync, è l’encoder di Intel e forse riesci a usarlo senza perdere troppe performance.

Allora, il problema è che la scheda grafica sia davvero debole, per dirti PS4 ha un processore dedicato allo streaming che registra in continuazione lo schermo e se gli dici di streammare lui lo fa. Il tuo Pc invece deve rubare risorse al computer per registrare, quindi mentre streammi hai prestazioni molto peggiori. Infine non aiuta che il tuo Pc sia di 7 anni fa. Se fosse moderno avresti molti meno problemi, ma 7 anni di età è davvero troppo senza una scheda grafica dedicata. L’upload invece è perfetto (16 megabit) e infatti con un hardware potente come PS4 non hai problemi.

Mi serve sapere due cose. 1) che scheda grafica hai? 2) vai su www.fast.com e fai il test, quando finisce esce scritto tipo “altre informazioni”, clicca e aspetta che finisca anche i test sotto, poi dimmi che valori escano

Yes but that is not how game development works. The reasoning is this: I integrated X version of DLSS in my game so I assure you that one works. The others? I don’t know, I can’t prove it. I’d need time and money to test everything again to do that. So, if you want a better way to handle changing the dlss version ask Nvidia to integrate it into their drivers and so the devs will only need to load the dll in the driver’s folders, maybe they could even allow you to choose the version from the control panel like you can choose FXAA or MSAA.

Prendere xbox non ha un diavolo di senso. Nessuna esclusiva degna, joypad di merda con ancora difetti risalenti al pad della 360 (ricorda che LB e RB sono un unico pezzo di plastica in flessione costante…) e gamepass pieno di giochi di merda con pochissime eccezioni, che puoi recuperare su PS a pochi euro a gioco se non sono già presenti nel Plus. Prendi una Ps5 disc e fatti il Plus, quello base ti da accesso ai best of Ps4, giocateli con i miglioramenti Ps5 e poi il resto te lo compri (se vuoi risparmiare usa Vinted) o ti fai il Plus Extra/Premium e giochi tutto il resto che c’è sulla piattaforma. Ps5 poi non è orrenda e puoi anche personalizzare le robe laterali, non so se ne hai mai vista una dal vivo. Ma poi chi se ne frega dell’estetica? Tieniti Serie S per le stronzate Microsoft e prendi PS5 per i giochi seri.

New 70 has always been old 80 Ti or Titan. My GTX970 was better than the first Titan for a third of the price. 670 destroyed 580. 770 was an overclocked 680. 1070 was better than 980 Ti. 2070 was better than 1080 with RTX feautures, and the Super was better than the 1080 Ti. 3070 is as fast as the 2080 Ti.

Trust me vsync is the reason! I’ll always remember playing Naruto 2 and 3 on my friend’s xbox 360 and then on my PC maxed out but thinking “what the fuck is this shit” Now yeah, 4k VRR on PS5 is just magnificent, I love 40fps modes too if I want some sweet graphics instead of fluidity.

I think it's just better implemented Vsync. Triple buffered vsync probably broke a bit the fluidity offered by the old double buffered one, but it allowed variable framerate so people stuck with that. On consoles though if the framerate is stable, even to 30, they can customize the motion blur to perfection and with a good vsync give you the perfect framepacing and experience. PC is just "lol let's hope your hardware is good enough"

È una stronzata perché è solo un’iconcina, devi incazzarti per robe come Prime video che fa partire ad fullscreen anche se paghi il servizio, non per l’app integrata di un Samsung. Pubblicità paragonabili ci sono anche su LG, Sony e tutti gli altri.

Mi riferisco ai colori dell’LCD. È lo stesso schermo dell’iPad normale insomma, non dell’Air e del Pro. La differenza è tantissima purtroppo.

Il QLED non “soffre per la profondità nel nero”, i Neo QLED hanno il Full Array Local Dimming, se uno sfondo è nero i pixel non vengono illuminati. Nonostante ciò, gli OLED sono molto più precisi nella cosa potendo lavorare pixel per pixel. La cosa che devi controllare insomma è se ci sia il local dimming con molte zone di dimming. C’è una bossfight di Elden Ring che ha come sfondo il nero totale e ti assicuro che lo vedevo nero: la Tv spegneva i faretti dietro e io vedevo solo UI, boss e personaggio. Gli OLED per me sono da considerare nel caso si abbia molto controllo sulla luce ambientale. Chiudi tutte le tapparelle e sei al buio totale, lì l’OLED è magnifico.

Come prova per ciò che ho detto vai a vedere i requisiti di Forspoken e Returnal. Ovviamente aspetta benchmark ma in questo momento si gioca bene su PS5 e su PC se vuoi qualcosa di paragonabile ti servono 1500€, e cioè anche no.

Avere Android non “serve”, non importa se Samsung non ce l’ha. Anzi io direi che più siamo lontani da Google meglio è. E la pubblicità nell’interfaccia è solo un rettangolino nel menu in basso su qualche serie appena uscita.

Se il software fa schifo però ti rovina l’esperienza, io i cinesoni li eviterei. Con gli OLED poi devi essere delicato altrimenti hai black crush intenso e schifi vari. E ora anche Samsung fa di nuovo oled, i bellissimi QD OLED. Sei rimasto a 2 anni fa.

I Neo QLED di Samsung sono ottimi se non ti da fastidio il tonemapping forzato. Gli OLED sono carini ma secondo me siamo troppo presto, tra un paio di annetti forse. Ho un Samsung QN90A e mi trovo benissimo. Se hai domande sono qui.

Non scendere sotto i 12 giga di VRAM e i 24 di RAM. Stanno uscendo i primi giochi current gen ed è arrivato il reality check per gli acquirenti Nvidia: gli 8 giga della 3070 Ti non bastano manco per il cazzo. E non sprecare così tanti soldi per la CPU, che siamo al paradigm shift, i prossimi i5 devasteranno i moderni i9 e lo stesso accadrà con AMD. Nei periodi di transizione non si fanno grandi acquisti.

Two things that would really make games better without even changing the Switch screen, just the hardware, are HDR and VRR. HDR is much more important for aesthetics that simple graphics advancements, and in the hands of Nintendo’s artists… man it makes me so hyped for the future without it even existing. VRR would just perfect the games’ playability, and well there would be 40fps modes too, without the need for 120Hz OLED screens that aren’t cheap at all.

The standard is now 30fps graphical maximum, 40fps balanced optimization, and then variable refresh rate that goes up to 120fps (usually 90-100fps), or at least these are the settings for the modern games I’ve played on my PS5!

I spent a couple of days browsing the web searching for solutions, googling its Broadcom network card codename and shit, but nothing worked. Until one day I stumbled upon a forum with soe posts from, like, 2006? Anyway, soneone said “add this string here”, I just copypasted that thing where the guy said and bam, after a restart the computer started reading the wifi signal. I didn’t expect it to work, it was just one of the random things people had said online to troubleshoot.

Trust me, not really. There's more than enough memory for current games to not "need" an SSD. They work much better with one, but that's a different problem. NOW that the new Unreal Engine is out, that's how we're going to see games use the SSDs in a new way, not possible on old gen. You are right, but that doesn't make the game "not work", it might just make it "nothing special" if the quirks don't grab you. Bossfight were big knight but every one of them had a gimmick (just like Dark Souls bosses) and in my opinion they were OK, you tried a couple of times to understand the gimmick so you could go on. The art direction was interesting and in my opinion the late game made use of the past levels to connect everything in a very interesting way, I really liked that about the level design. The weight of the combat system didn't seem consistent with the gliding you're talking about, but still it made this game different from everything else and you had to think about every move you made, I liked this aspect. It just made "light" build unpractical I guess. And yes it was generally unbalanced but is it really a problem? All the Souls games have some unbalanced mechanic and LOTF has Runes, I made a weapon so good I killed the final boss in three or four hits and I still don't know how it fights because my build was so fucking overpowered. It's funny, it's not BAD, bad to me means frustrating. This is just funny, I laughed and thought "good job KingArthas94, you just broke the game lol" The story was meh but the world was interesting, they just had to show us why the character was imprisoned and wtf how was he powerful enough (and the only one as powerful as him) to go against literal gods? I hope the new game follows the same path but this time shows us who actually is the main guy.

It’s better to rechange randomly during the day, like if you’re going out and you have 40% left, just charge a couple of minues as you get dressed or something, so you’ll have more battery life. So move between 20 and 80 as much as you want.

Why would Sony put their games on Plus on day one? They sell millions because they’re great, see God of War. This doesn’t happen with Microsoft. GP is full of games, but most of them are forgotten 5/10 games that no one would play otherwise. It’s a quantity vs quality thing. I have had Gamepass for over a year and PS Plus for a couple of months, there’s no contest. Also on GamePass games come and go, while PS Now and Plus seem to be more stable. You’ll find Reddit talking good about GamePass because it’s full of PC gamers, but they don’t talk about how MS Store sucks. I fucking hate it.

Sì ma tra meno di due mesi uscirà la 4070 che sarà potente quanto una 3090, secondo me è uno sbaglio prendere la 3080 adesso. Forse la versione con 12 giga… ma non ci spenderei più di 500 euro. La serie 4000 è anche più veloce nel ray tracing a parità di numero di cores.
