Trust me, I had the same doubt. Essays will improve with time. If I look back at my first essay and the one that I write now, there is a massive difference. If you feel you are behind on writing, just practice a bit more, there are tons of resources online. What I learned, especially at the university, is that being smart just means working hard. For me working hard is having a well-defined schedule and avoiding procrastinating. I did not consider myself a smart person either, but since I have started to schedule my days and do the work I understood that was just a matter of putting in the work. I will just say, go for it. There may be times when you want to give up, but just focus on the goal and you will be fine. Starting my bachelor's at 31 was definitely one of the best decisions of my life, in the end, it will be worth it!

I was in your same situation. What worked for me was Duolingo for basic (free) and expose yourself to as much Swedish as you can. For example, watch at least an hour of Swedish tv with sub per days change the setting of your phone to Swedish, try to have conversation any chance you have even if you think it may look awkward. Hey! I am in exactly the same situation. I started university when I was 31. I had millions of doubts if I would have been good enough. The truth is that you need to take it day by day. What helps me is to have a very structured day where I plan my study and if I have the feeling that I am going to procrastinate, I push myself not to do it. You will build habits but is important that you build the right ones from the beginning. I am in my second year now, and looking back on how much I was worried, actually is not that bad. Just put in the work, structure your day, and don't give up!

Broke my wrist at 3 points, and my arm was at a double 90-degree angle. But the worst pain was not actually when it broke, but when the doctor straightened it up on the spot before I could get anesthesia. Safe to say that after that it was all a big blur. Hey! I feel you. But you don’t sound like a failure. I have been in your same situation. I am 32 and I’m just finishing my bachelor degree. Nothing wrong with that! Sometimes it takes a little longer to get where we are supposed to be, and that’s ok! I know that this seems insurmountable, but think back every time that you had a stressful moment, for example an exam, a heart brake. In that moment always looked like you could not get past, but you know what? Eventually you did, and so you will know. Just let that sink in. Start making a plan today: -Where do you want to see yourself in 5 years? -How can you get there? Divide in in small achievable goals, persevere and don’t give up. You can do it man.
