Linda's 2nd serve is still a bit of a problem for her. If she fix that it will help her a lot. As a comparison her sister barely hits double faults, even under massive pressure, so this is a more reliable shot for Brenda (and one of the reasons why I think she will be a better in a few years).

Siniakova def Gauff I think. She beat Coco in the BJK finals 2 months ago in 2 sets. Yes, Coco won Auckland but she didn't face a top 60 player, this match will be way harder.

This yearly thing will be an album where all the girls participate. We won't have songs for 24 girls, not even NCT does that, except in very special occasions and those are not songs they ever perform.

Iga is still the big favorite imo but I like Kostyuk's draw (except the R1 vs Anisimova). This could be her big breakthrough in a slam if she survive that 1st match. I think Zheng Qinwen will go far as well, it's hard to bet on her to win the whole thing, considering she doesn't have a title yet but it happened a few times in the previous seasons (Swiatek, Raducanu...), she definitely has potential to join that club. Vondrousova is a good pick tho, she looks healthy again and has a decent draw.

Finally had some time to analyze the WTA draw in detail and I loved it! This tournament has so much potential. Could be an Australian Open for the ages!

Wimbledon also gave WCs to Samsonova and TVR for doing well, like Noskova did. The AO decision to ignore her is a disgrace.

It is not unfair, she is a massive talent but she didn't do a great job last season in some tournaments, which caused her ranking to slip a bit. She really had some bad losses like this. Thankfully now she won't have to play qualies anymore.

She lost to Parks, Barthel, Mcnally and Bartunkova in her last 4 tournaments of 2022. That's what I'm talking about. When you consider that this loss to Sebov is not so surprising.

It's a shame. I blame the AO directors who gave a WC to a walking bye instead of Linda, after Venus withdrew (and after seeing Noskova beating top 10 players in a WTA 500).

We never know what is gonna happen, tripleS is full of surprises but the dorm for only 4 girls makes me think this Haus is temporary like Haus 1 and 2. Her career path is scarily similar to Swiatek's. Won a junior slam (RG) and then moved to the pro circuit, didn't get wild cards for bigger tournaments, didn't try to play WTA qualies, just played/won the ITFs and was focusing on improving her game without unnecessary, large steps.

It was risky before their debut. Now they managed to build enough hype and are basically set for success. Raducanu is still pretty fast and her backhand can match Coco's. The only way I can see Coco beating her is if Coco serve very well and count with a really bad serving day from Emma.

Gauff vs Raducanu would be similar to Gauff-Swiatek. Just look how Emma was hitting her forehand today and think about the exchanges they would have. They never played and yet I can tell this is a terrible match-up for Coco.

She is never going to win anything important with that. Maybe she can reach another slam final if she get a weak draw again but there is always someone on fire in the end who will know how to explore this huge weakness. Girl definitely should build another forehand from zero while she is still young.

Fruhvirtova's serve seems to have improved. Lots of free points and no problems with DFs, which was very costly for her last season.

Modhaus found a way to consistently pay the idols from day 1, the girls earn a % of all these NFT photocard sales. Those things don't serve only for fans to choose subunits/songs, they are literally giving money to the girls with this. Some people may find it bad but I think it's way better than these groups that work for years without earning nothing. The tripleS girls are being paid from day 1, even before the debut.

Wouldn't surprise me but I think it's a long shot. They could just be friends of the same age/school. As far as I know the last auditions for I-LAND 2 happened when Myah was still on Girls Planet in October 2021 (I-LAND 2 was supposed to air in 2022). If they didn't try to grab her from TOP Media randomly in 2022 then it's impossible for her to be there on belift. I guess we will find out in a few months. This show is going to start right after the end of Boys Planet.

Managers talk/complain about that all the time and this is 1 reason why the big clubs are choosing to ignore the regional tournaments nowadays. These local leagues are very traditional and part of our history but there are so many matches, potential injuries, etc... They are important for the small clubs and regional federations tho. This gives visibility to many players and these clubs/federations make money with TV rights + these regional federations are politically strong, they always choose friends to be leading the CBF, so I don't think CBF will get rid of these leagues anytime soon, despite the complaints of the big clubs.

I think you misunderstood me, you're right but you just need to see any demographic chart to see how NewJeans and groups like that have way more female fans than male fans. When you see groups like Twice it's the opposite. The industry is making groups especially for women. If they can get some male fans with controversial concepts (or by debuting pretty underage girls like you said), even better for them but the target demographic is still women in the end. I would like that to change or to see a balance (50% of girl groups trying to appeal to women and 50% trying to appeal to men).
