https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/f6yutu/big_feature_request_for_the_bitcoincom_wallet/

In light of [this post where a new BCH user was confused](https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/f61qpm/question_on_fees/), here's a big feature request for the bitcoin.com wallet. I know that we're all trying to switch the world to a pure cryptocurrency economy, but sadly, we still live in the fiat world for right now, so we still have to talk in terms of fiat currency. Currently, the bitcoin.com wallet only shows us the CURRENT USD VALUE of each transaction, not the ORIGINAL USD VALUE at the time of the transaction. It would be a really nice feature to be able to see BOTH USD VALUES PER TRANSACTION: the original USD value & the current USD value. Interestingly enough, the wallet app provided by BTC.com actually DOES show BOTH values, but that wallet is really a terrible wallet with almost no features at all. It has a terrible user interface as well, and their customer support is almost 100% non-existent. So that wallet totally pales in comparison to the excellent bitcoin.com wallet. So the reason that this would be a good feature is precisely because of the confusion that the user had in the post above. Example: Let's say that we pay someone $20 USD for lunch. A few days later, we go back to our Bitcoin.com wallet, and it appears like we only paid that person $17.50 USD for lunch. That's because the USD value of BCH has dropped over the last few days, but then it becomes very confusing to us as to what was the actual USD dollar that we paid them a few days ago? So, if the bitcoin.com wallet actually showed us BOTH USD VALUES (current value & original value), then this would eliminate all of this confusion. I know that this would be a huge feature request, because it would require to historically have access to old daily prices of BCH! Thanks! :)

https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/f5wu3a/2_small_bugs_with_the_bitcoincom_wallet_on_ios/

We've discovered 2 small bugs with the new bitcoin.com wallet (version 6.0.7 (2)) on iOS 13.3: 1. APP LOCK: The bitcoin.com wallet has an option for "app lock" — we are assuming that this option means that the app should require authentication (TouchID or FaceID) to launch/open? But even though we've got the bitcoin.com wallet's option for "app lock" turned on, the app never locks itself. Even if we leave the app for 20 minutes, 30 minutes, or more. Even if we lock our phone for an hour and then unlock our phone an hour later, the bitcoin.com app doesn’t lock itself. The app can just be opened without any further authentication or credentials (TouchID or FaceID). Unless we're misunderstanding what the purpose of the "app lock" feature is? Our assumption was that "app lock" means further authentication/credentials. 2. iOS NOTIFICATION PROBLEM ON iPHONE (but works fine on iPad): Even though we have all notifications turned on within both (a) the bitcoin.com wallet and (b) the iPhone's iOS Notification Settings for the bitcoin.com app, we are never notified by iOS when we have received a new incoming transaction. Strangely enough, this bug does not occur on iPad, only on iPhone. So the iOS notifications work fine on iPad. But they do not work on iPhone. Also note that the app's notifications WITHIN the bitcoin.com wallet app itself still work fine (e.g. if you have the wallet app launched & open, the app will notify you WITHIN THE APP ITSELF when a new transaction is received). But the iPhone app does not push those notifications outward to the iOS level of system notifications, so the iOS notifications will not trigger on iPhone. We have not tried deleting & reinstalling the app, so no idea if that would fix the problem or not. u/memorydealers

Brilliant!!! That’s how we win — not by onboarding merchants, but by showing off what BCH can do that fiat can’t do!

It is a problem with one man only. He has virtually no support. On November 16th, hope will return. However, if he does manage to somehow retain the ticker, I think that all of us can shut down this little experiment known as Bitcoin, as it will have failed and died. I will no longer be involved in the space, and I know that many others feel the same way.

TOP PICKS: 5, 13, 15 NO: 7, 9, 14, 16, 17, and 18. I don’t feel like old school 1980’s pixelated graphics (or embossed graphics) appeals to me when it comes to marketing the world’s most amazing & modern & miraculous invention: P2P electronic cash. NO: 11 & 12 for advertising Bitcoin. YES: 10. I like the very clever & interesting idea about paying anonymously in #10. It’s nearly impossible to compete against credit cards (which is why I think we should be primarily focusing on building innovative use cases for BCH such as read.cash), but hyping up the anonymous aspect of BCH is very compelling... especially when combined with the stigmatized industries that have been abandoned by the banking sector and NEED BCH (sex work, porn, marijuana, etc.). Although as others have pointed out, it’s really pseudonymously. YES: 5, 6, 8, 13, 15. I feel like the simplest ones are my favorites. Combining any of these with the anonymous line from #10 works for me, too. YES: 1, 2, 4. A little busy, but I still like them a lot. NO: 3. I don’t like the words “we take”.

Right here, this makes Lightning Network a complete nonstarter. It is a complete & total farce. Very simply, it is technology that **DOESN'T WORK**. The masses can’t be kept clueless forever, though. And those transactions can’t settle at all if the BTC mempool is full. But, as detailed above in all the links, Lightning DOESN’T work as a technology, and it cannot scale, and it is insecure. It can’t even figure out how to route payments. Oh, and merchants don’t accept Lightning either. Of course, since the original BTC network has been artificially crippled, it no longer works as a currency. >"I rallied around BCH and then promptly got abused, treated to the Twitter mobs. That was a terrible period, actually. I didn't like it because, I mean, I've always been a champion of privatized currencies, whatever form they take. I don't even care what you call it. As long as it's out of the hands of government. So to be accused of, yet again, of being part of a pump & dump scheme, a scamster, of all these things, you know, I was subject to harassment, intimidation. It was horrible. And actually, at the time, people had warned me that if I showed any sympathy for the fork at all, that I would be subjected to this. **But it was far worse than I really imagined. And nobody wants to live that way. Remember that a “business” requires customers. Vin has already shut down more than half of CoinText due to lack of customers. I imagine that the other half will probably shut down soon. His business idea — even though it is 100% custodial like a bank — is still a good idea, but he’s about 30 years too early.

Exactly. But you’re making the classic newbie mistake of thinking that they actually WANT crypto to succeed. The developers who hijacked BTC were paid off tens of millions of dollars to specifically derail it & destroy it. Their ACTUAL goal is failure, not success. And they are paid very handsomely to achieve it. Meanwhile, Jeffrey Tucker recently did a great video on the topic of BCH: https://read.cash/@scotty321/full-transcript-jeffrey-tucker-on-bitcoin-bitcoin-cash-monetary-fundamentals-and-human-rights-69530d63

And here’s [an educational talk I created on Bitcoin Cash (formerly known as Bitcoin) back in 2015](https://youtu.be/EzFOwFXlR48). Everything I mention in this video is referring to Bitcoin Cash BCH, not Bitcoin BTC.

Amaury — the man who publicly claimed to be “for Bitcoin Cash” — has actively done everything that he could do to sabotage Bitcoin Cash, and now, he wants to prevent the world from even LEARNING about Bitcoin Cash. Truly unreal. Amaury is a toxic, toxic, toxic, toxic human being. His continual actions have shown that he is actually “against Bitcoin Cash”, and that he was actually a destructive Trojan Horse within our community all along. Thank God the community will be tossing him aside in November, so we can get back to our goals of P2P Cash. I also want to be very clear that if, for some reason, Amaury’s IFP fork should win the BCH ticker symbol in November, I am permanently done with cryptocurrency, and will no longer be a part of BCH.

My only guess on this is that they simply want to avoid being the victim of ongoing, hostile attacks. Jeffrey Tucker even [talks about these hostile attacks in his recent video](https://read.cash/@scotty321/full-transcript-jeffrey-tucker-on-bitcoin-bitcoin-cash-monetary-fundamentals-and-human-rights-69530d63) (which was an absolutely amazing video, by the way). I didn't like it because, I mean, I've always been a champion of privatized currencies, whatever form they take. I don't even care what you call it. As long as it's out of the hands of government. Hi Roger, the only real issue is that the age requirement isn’t really a restriction at all. It is easily gamed & circumvented. If a troll creates 100 new accounts every single day, he can still post daily from 100 different accounts. The age requirement only really slows down brand new trolls who have just appeared out of the blue to troll us on that particular day. But since we are dealing with professional, state-paid trolls here, the karma requirements would be a little more effective. I feel like mirroring the requirements of u/cryptocurrency would be ideal. u/BitcoinXio

Lol. Um, no. No censorship here. Our mod logs are completely open and public. Can you say the same thing about r/bitcoin? Nope. The new rules will simply be minimum human decency requirements before being allowed to post, just like 90% of all other subreddits. Viewing your -300 karma and scrolling through your toxic posting history, you don’t even meet the minimum decency requirements of being a human. Hence the new forthcoming rules.

The problem is that most merchants and their customers don’t have a need nor desire to accept BCH. The fiat banking system works absolutely perfectly for most businesses & individuals, unless you’re in the sex industry or marijuana industry. Now THOSE are the 2 industries that we should be targeting. But outside of that, people love their credit card rewards, and both parties love the protection that credit cards provide them. The only way to get people to use BCH is to build amazing products & services that couldn’t be accomplished with the current banking system, and which solve people’s actual problems. That’s what read.cash does, which is really a killer app for BCH. We need more innovations like that. Tipping bots are another fantastic innovation that can’t really be done effectively with credit cards. What else can BCH do that fiat can’t? Not what we nerds think is cool (sovereign non-custodial money, privacy, sound money, instant irreversible transactions, push instead of pull transactions) — the general public doesn’t really care about any of that. And the volatility completely scares them off. We need innovations that the general public would think is cool. Things that can’t be done with the legacy banking system, and things where the volatility doesn’t matter. More things like read.cash. What are those innovations?

That's true — you're not really one of our trolls. You're more along the lines of just being very negative. And, in the case of posts like above, you post incorrect information. But you're not really problematic like the real trolls who are constantly attacking this subreddit, and trying to create major disinformation/propaganda campaigns, and trying to derail P2P cash for the world.
