And honestly you probably know more than me, I study Information Systems and Decision Sciences but my concentration is moreso in the computer/programming aspect than the economic (although I’ve had to take a few classes on macroeconomics and what not) if you have your own thoughts or counter to what I’ve said you should make a post, the more discussion the better!

Not sure how familiar people were with these concepts when writing, tried to keep it as simple as possible. Definitely brushed over some important stuff by doing that, i might make a 2nd post since people are actually reading this one

Hot take but a battle pass should be earned. Being able to get every item shouldn’t be a given, actual hardcore players will have items that differentiate them from people who just regularly play and that’s NOT a bad thing. Even by completing only half of the pass, you still get about 30 items as well as additional boosts and toasts. Seems fair for a $10 battle pass imo

Crazy thing is the amount of money they’ve made off these is a rounding error compared to their yearly revenue from normal business. I honestly think there’s a team that’s eager to build something but it’s up to the execs to green-light this type of stuff, and if they don’t think it’s worth the time or money then they’re just gonna let the project rot. Only time will tell I suppose

As of now yeah, but keep in mind we’re in the midst of a recession as well as a lot of turbulence in crypto/NFT market especially so I wouldn’t pay too much attention to current price and volume. I really wish Reddit would communicate more tho, at least have a roadmap with plans or something. The profile pictures are a nice novelty but they really do need additional use cases if they want to have a relevant NFT project in the future

Another year in cap hell, we have little draft capital (unless a Payton deal goes through but I’m not too optimistic) I think we’re at a crossroads as a franchise. Do we wanna be stuck in .500 purgatory or pull the plug and be abysmal for a year or 2 but with a brighter outlook? Once you answer that question then you can begin to determine what you do at QB. If i was GM? I’d trade away players with value that aren’t young centerpieces of the team, maybe even a couple you don’t want to see go, build up a war chest of picks and just rebuild from the ground up. Draft a QB with a (presumably) top 5 pick and bring in a respectable vet so he’s not immediately thrown into the fire. We’ve been kicking the can since 2018, made sense when we were contending but it’s time to start over. Front office made some bad personnel decisions and paid the wrong people imo, coach and player wise.

Not a bad idea at all. Also keep in mind you’ll probably have to buy some 120mm fans with your case I think the 5000d only comes with 2. You can also opt for AIO liquid cooling instead of the air cooler shown for the CPU. That’s the beauty of building PCs though you can make it exactly how you want it

After having 2 gaming laptops shit out in 5 years I built a PC and never looked back. The performance and cooling of a desktop is leagues ahead of any laptop out there. With that budget you could build a PC that does 1440p high refresh rate or 4k at a very playable framerate. Just depends on what you’re looking for, you might not even need to spend that much

I’ve seen people over at r/nvidia changing out the thermal pads and getting better performance, but I’ve also seen thermals become WORSE so tread with caution but might be something to look into

3080 tends to run hot, 80 degrees is to be expected under full load but after merely 5 minutes? I'd make sure your fans are running at 100%, you can also try experimenting with different intake/exhaust positions. Or perhaps get more fans and do a push/pull setup (if the case allows) and see if that helps.

Also don't pay $1800 for the 3080 shown you can get one for MUCH cheaper

It's a little overkill (unless you plan on doing 4k gaming and/or particularly intensive modeling/rendering) but overall looks like a nice machine that'll last you a while. Keep in mind you'll have to buy additional fans to fill out your 5000D (great case btw its the one I'm using), would also recommend more than 1TB of storage but you can always upgrade that later.

If we want ANY chance of secondary commerce of digital goods then this is the most likely implementation as of now

You aren’t understanding my point, this allows them to have all the same functionality with 90% less overhead. The same thing, but costs them less to run. And yes I realize there are marketplaces for items but I’m more concerned about having ownership of my games, the things that actually have substance and content and aren’t just pixels- which is not a thing on the steam market.

It’s impossible to impose royalties on a digital item unless you were to build an entire network and UI for a marketplace; or you could simply have them converted to a token, hence why they now have a profit incentive to allow reselling. They save money by not having to run servers on a marketplace and instead have all the data stored on a blockchain. Yeah the jpegs are stupid but this is a legitimate mutually beneficial implementation of NFTs that allows consumers to own their digital items while providing a stream of revenue to companies.

Idk if you know this but NFTs can have royalties every time a transaction occurs, you get complete control of your digital items, publisher takes 5% off the top every transaction. Win-win and better than what we currently have which is merely a license that allows you to play the game, no ownership whatsoever as of now.

Loving all these ignorant blanket statements, people still have a narrow minded perspective on non fungible tokens and their potential use cases that would IMPROVE the consumer’s experience. Imagine if you actually owned all your digital games and were free to trade/resell them at your leisure.

To get you started, look into crypto wallets (I personally use Metamask) and get that setup. From there you can connect to Opensea which is the marketplace these are all being bought/sold from. It’s definitely a learning experience and can be a pain to setup, but after you’re done with that it’s easy to do transactions. Make sure you buy a bit of MATIC for transaction fees and poly eth for the main transaction

Derivatives, stocks, bonds, etc all operate on this premise. No one invests in something to never sell forever. Hype from potential earnings will draw people in and end up getting more people who are into the art aspect in the long term. You can’t look at these as purely art, there’s a reason Reddit went through the trouble of putting these on the blockchain instead of releasing them as normal avatars. Think big picture.

Good to have both types of people in the space honestly, people who view it as an asset provide liquidity which in turn helps avatars retain value by imposing a demand. Don’t forget that buying and selling art as an asset happens all the time in the fine art world, it’s normal behavior and it’s good for the collectibles overall.

Whenever you cut/trade a player with remaining guaranteed money in the contract it carries over to the next season. Let’s say you gave a QB a two year 25 mil contract with 10 mil guaranteed. He underperforms after his first season and you decide to cut him. Since he’s guaranteed that money in the contract you still have to pay him the remaining 5 mil despite him not playing for your team anymore.

Do not overpay for players. That’s probably been my biggest struggle so far and I’m on year 2046. You can trade young players with high potential for a buttload of picks and then trade one or 2 of the guys from those picks for even more. You’ll gain a small amount of dead cap but it’s worth it. Get as many top 16 picks as possible since you’ll be getting solid 4-5 star players on cheap rookie contracts. Also upgrade your training facility as soon as possible so you can restyle players. Always try to find players that match your coordinator style you’ll get huge bonuses. Hope that made sense I’m kinda rambling lmao

This can be seen as a pro and a con in your situation as the telescope glides around very easily but unless you’re using a high magnification your 4 year old bumping into it shouldn’t be a problem. It doesn’t come with a case but it comes with a cap for the main lens and eyepiece. I haven’t tried it on mountainous terrain since I live in Louisiana but I’ve used it on gravel, dirt, grass and I’ve had no issues whatsoever. This is a great telescope that offers amazing views of the moon, several planets, and even deep sky objects. I’m able to see Jupiter and it’s 4 Galilean moons (including Io) and Saturn’s rings using the eyepiece is comes with. I recommend getting a 2x or even a 3x Barlow lens since it comes with a 25mm eyepiece which is considered low magnification. With an added 3x I was able to spot the Great Red Spot on Jupiter, the Cassini Division in Saturn’s Rings, and even Titan! If light pollution isn’t too bad you can see things such as nebulae and star clusters. I would highly recommend this telescope to anyone ESPECIALLY for people new to the hobby. It’s point and look, super simple. I’ve even used it for bird watching during the day time. If you have any other question feel free to ask :)
